Ok, this stuff is OLD. As in circa 2008. That’s 2 effin years ago. But this must not be passed up.
Ran Ramen Tei is a small Japanese restaurant, located at Taguig, near Fort Bonifacio, my friend referred me to go to. Well, let’s just say that this is one of the best referrals he had given me.
Japanese restaurants have one thing in common when it comes to our expectations. It’s called QUALITY. And Ran Ramen Tei’s got it, without raping your wallet.
Ok, enough with the praises.
California Maki (P95.00)
Yes, it’s 95 bucks only. Great Cali Maki for its price. Definitely better than Saisaki’s.
Ebi Tempura (P80.00)
Lovely Ebi tempura. Definitely tastes authentic and, again, cheap at 80 bucks per order. You can’t get something this cheap and this good anywhere else.
Torikaraage (P80.00)
Torikaraage or chicken lollipops in English. Tasty, crisp fried chicken with chopped lettuce salad topped with Kewpie! (japanese mayo)
Uni Tempura (P100.00)
This one just effin blew me away. You get every bang by the buck in this dish (is that how you say it? oh well, who the hell cares).
This ones basically tempura with uni (sea urchin) inside, wrapped in seaweed to prevent the uni from being fried along with the batter. Super tasty uni and it was hella fresh. You won’t have that lasang dagat taste from it. Definitely my favorite!! And where the hell will you get uni for a hundred bucks that fresh?? (tell me if you know some other place ok?:D)
Miso Soup (P25.00)
Your ordinary Japanese miso soup.. for 25 bucks only.
Salmon Sashimi (P120.00) – pardon the crappy photo.
Their salmon sashimi was way over my expectations. For japanese raw dishes, it’s very important to have fresh stocks to serve, and they have not failed on this one. But another thing that made me effin happy about this dish was the salmon itself was fat! Salmon meat and fat in perfect marble harmony!
Uni Sashimi (P120.00)
3 big slobs of fresh uni right in front of you for just 120 bucks. Even my tummy will smile at the thought of it!! Fresh, creamy uni sashimi served with soy sauce, wasabi and some calamansi too. My favorite dish of all.
Randolph Rebleza, the chef/owner/manager of the place was, I only heard this from my friend ok so it’s not necessarily 100% true, an assistant chef in one of the Japanese restaurants in Little Tokyo along Pasong Tamo in Makati. Trained and cooked side-by-side with his previous Japanese boss through the years made him a great Japanese cook and also learned where to source fresh seafood for his restaurant.
Effin’Rating:
FFFFF 5 effin Fs for having great quality in their food with prices that tickles my wallet. Effin’ Good in every way!
