Malcolm’s Place: the Wagyu Hype

Malcolm's

Malcolm's Place

Hunting for another steak joint along Salcedo Village in Makati, I suddenly realized I never had the chance to drop by Malcolm’s Place. People over the internet were raving about their Wagyu steak so I just have to try and check out this hype!

But first, appetizers to make my tummy in the zone.

Sausage Saute (P330.00)

Green bell peppers, onions, garlic and sausages (I believe they used 2 kinds of sausages) mixed and sauteed to create this wonderful tasting dish! The combination of onions (and lots of it) with green bell peppers helped boost the sausages’ meaty flavor. Perfect appetizer as it does just that – to start up your appetite!

Seafood Chowder (P130.00)

Clam Chowder!

Seafood Chowder!

Never been a fan of chowder.. until I had Malcolm’s. The soup has enough volume, and real seafood bits with it. Lovely seafood aroma in every sip, and not giving you the malansa stench. No, none of that, which is effin’ good!

Wagyu Sirloin (P230.00/50g)

Alas! testing the hype! But unfortunately, it didn’t meet our Wagyu Steak qualifications, which must be, soft, has that melt-in-your-mouth sensation. It was a bit bland, even if there was sauce and butter served on top. Although the steak serving was bigger compared to other steak joints, it lacked the flavor and mmmm! of a Wagyu Steak. On the other hand, the good thing about this entree was that it was served with 2 side dishes of your choice. Their creamed spinach was also fresh and hellagood!

Personally, their Wagyu was obviously hyped up by first-time wagyu steak eaters. There are lots of better steak spots around Makati which you can relatively spend the same amount of money on.

Coffee Crunch Cake (P120.00)

Malcolm redeemed itself with this enticing cake. Its caramel topping was chewy( that doesn’t stick to your teeth), and with a little crunch! Went straight to my tummy in a jiffy.

Here are some photos of the place:

The ambiance was relaxing and you can even check out a selection of the latest magazines with some wines of your choice. And on a weekday night, the place is super quiet perfect for spending some quality time with your love ones.

effin’ rating:

FFF

3Fs for their ambiance appetizers and everything but their steak.
