As they say, the Chinese are friggin’ everywhere – so are the restaurants. If you happen to frequently pass by World Trade Center, Star City/Theatre, CCP Complex, Macapagal Hwy and still hadn’t noticed this restaurant, then open your effin’ eeeyyeeeeessss.

(The) Legend Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant, located along Macapagal Hwy (facing World Trade Center) and inside the Boom-na-Boom compound. The place is big, well lit and very welcoming. My first impression though was that, as usual, smelly carpets, dirty plates and cheap chopsticks but I was wrong, the place was well-maintained, plates and utensils were clean and the service was great! There are specific waiters(not in uniform but dressed smart casual) that are designated to take orders. They also suggest what to take depending on your appetite or how many people are going to be dining. And since I went there only with my girlfriend, we only ordered rice toppings. Just to be practical.
Fish Fillet Toppings (P180.00)
Took a bite and never stopped. The fillet was soft and fresh served with ‘shrooms and garlic, it was an easy meal to finish. Spring onions gives it a fragrant kick and without it, it ain’t HK style, beessh.
Sweet and Sour Pork Toppings (p150.00)
I have a benchmark for restaurants who claim that they CAN cook and taste like the local Hong Kong restos – you gotta try their Sweet and Sour Pork.
And I may say that Legend is one of them.
Tangy, tasty and chewy semi-fried pork cutlets covered in sweet-and-sour sauce that has a perfect combination of that onion taste, sweet pineapple and sour vinegar sensation that keeps me wanting for more. I finished this within 4 minutes (kasama na chitchat dyan).
Something extra I just wanted to try:
Sharks’ Fin Dumplings
A bit small but superb quality and taste. The dimsum wrap was firm and has the perfect thinness that I want. Definitely Hong Kong style.
For dessert:
Mango Sago!!
Just the ordinary mango sago that EVERY Chinese resto MUST have.
Other dishes that Legend is known for:
Lapu-Lapu fish fillet with tofu and taosi (steamed)
Any Fried Rice they have
Suckling Pig combination
Peking duck combination
and of course their seafood soup (expensive ingredients).
***I’ll be updating this post as my partner and I continue to go back Legend and try more of their famous dishes.***
I’ll give…
FFFFF
5 Fs for Legend as it is waaaay better than Gloria Maris.
